How you can help create magic
Our vision is to maximise the potential of as many special children and young adults as possible, in gaining the life skills to integrate into society.
Having started in 2008 with a handful of students, we are now an Ofsted registered school with almost 70 students and clearly a much need resource for the Manchester community - Pupil numbers have grown rapidly rising 110% in the last 5 years. Our unique approach is to implement an innovative combination of core integrated kodesh and English curriculii, alongside bespoke therapies starting as young as possible. We provide a high proportion of interventions, on average 2 hours of direct therapy per child per week, where the sector average is around 30 minutes; with in excess of 30 different types of therapies and over 6000 treatment hours per annum. Therapists are constantly pushing boundaries and trying new methods to find the magic formula that will unlock each child’s potential.
We are proving so successful that where parents previously favoured mainstream integration, they are now choosing Aim Habonim for its facilities, specialist interventions and individual approach.
Our Post 16 division is a distinctive seminary/college provision for special girls leaving high school, combining a broad kodesh curriculum with training, and employability learning, to providing 16-25 year olds with independent living skills for adult life.
The existing building is now bursting at the seams and we have ambitious plans to expand further in the next 3 years to meet growing needs.
That is why the upcoming ‘Ride4Bonim’ bike ride is crucial. This is the 3rd bike ride and each one has been more successful than the other, with around £200,00 raised. Last year it enabled us to buy the adjacent land to our site. This year, the funds raised will help with the purchase of our current building and launch the next phase of the building campaign. Our plans are to add two storey’s to the existing structure with customised space for classrooms, therapy rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, oxygen room and sensory therapeutic garden amongst others.
In addition, whilst operation costs are generally covered, no one is turned away for lack of money.
With your support and help we can continue to find that magic formula to unlock the potential in special children in our community.
